Modesto, CA – Modesto Police Property Crimes Detectives made arrests today during an ongoing investigation into dental office burglaries throughout Stanislaus County.

At about 5:00 AM today detectives with the Modesto Police Department Property Crimes Unit responded to 3100 block of Coffee Rd to a report of a burglary at a dental office. Patrol was on scene and they reported that they had a possible lead on the identification on one of the burglars. Modesto Police Detectives, with the assistance of Ontel Security, were able to identify 36 year old Josh Swiderski, of Modesto, as a possible suspect.

As the investigation continued at the business, officers and detectives started checking the area for suspects. Detective David Ramirez spotted Swiderski at the intersection of McHenry Av and Tokay Av. Several officers responded and Swiderski, along with 25 year old Steven Vera, of Modesto, were taken into custody. Vera was also implicated in the burglary. Both suspects were booked into Stanislaus County Jail for burglary and conspiracy.

A series of burglaries of local dental and optometric offices throughout the county started back in August of 2016. Modesto Police Department has been working with members of Turlock Police Department to try and develop leads and suspect information. It is believed that these suspects may be involved in as many as 50 burglaries.
