Robbery-Homicide Division Arrests Suspect
in 2001 Kidnap and Sexual Assault Case
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide, Special Assault Section detectives arrested a suspect in a 2001 kidnap and sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy.
On February 14, 2017, RHD detectives arrested 54-year-old Mirek Voyt of Hollywood. Detectives were able to identify Voyt as the suspect in this case when there was a match in the Combined DNA Index System (C.O.D.I.S.) The match came after DNA was collected from Voyt when he was arrested for an unrelated crime.
Voyt was arrested at his residence for Kidnapping to Commit a Sex Act and is being held without bail. Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are asking them to contact Robbery-Homicide Division, Special Assault Section.
