Muncie – A Muncie woman was arrested on felony drug charges late last night after the vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped for a traffic violation. The events started just after 11:30 p.m., after Troopers Raney and Cook observed a Chevrolet pickup east bound on 15^th St. roll through the stop sign and turn south onto Hackley St. without a turn signal.
 
The troopers stopped the truck and made contact with the driver, who identified himself with an Indiana Operator’s License.  His female passenger, who had no I.D., identified herself as Deann Johnson, age 38 of Muncie. Further investigation by the troopers, who are both DEA trained in Methamphetamine investigations, led them to call for a K-9 search of the truck.
 
Eaton Police Department Officer Chris Liggett arrived at the scene a short time later with his K-9 partner to conduct an open air, walk around search of the truck.  The dog alerted to the presence of narcotics in the truck and a search yielded Methamphetamine and an assortment of pills.
 
As a result of their investigation the passenger, Deann Johnson, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Legend Drug, level 5 Felony; Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of the Precursors Used to Manufacture Methamphetamine, both Level 6 Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor. Johnson was lodged in the Delaware County Jail.
