Good Friday afternoon. The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/16/17.

-FM 41 at Quail Rd, Ropesville: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to check the area for a person parked in a vehicle in the area. The individual was located and advised she stopped while driving from Lubbock. No offenses were observed or reported at that time.

-FM 41 at Pheasant Rd, Ropesville: Assist THP. A deputy responded to assist a trooper on a traffic contact. One individual was arrested by the trooper and transported to the jail without incident.

-1800 blk W. Hwy 114: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant about a stolen camper trailer. A report was completed and an investigation is underway.

-3300 blk W. Hwy 114: Traffic Complaint. A deputy responded to a traffic complaint in the area. A driver advised there was nearly a collision on the highway. Information was collected, although there was no crash, and no offenses were reported.

Deputies completed close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail Population as of 2/17/17 at 0800 hours: 45 in Hockley County, 34 out-of-county.
