Fort Wayne Post Welcomes Three Trooper Transfers
(Fort Wayne, IN)-The Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne recently welcomed three troopers who have transferred in from two other northern Posts.
- Trooper Carmyn J. Hamblen, a one and a half year veteran of the State Police who is a native of Angola, Indiana. Hamblen is a 2011 graduate of Angola High School and in 2015, earned a Bachelor Degree in both Criminology and Communications from Valparaiso University. On November 19, 2015 Hamblen was appointed to the Department as a graduate of the 75th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Bremen Post, where she worked Elkhart County before her transfer. Hamblen, a resident of Steuben County, has been assigned to patrol duties in DeKalb and Steuben Counties.
- Trooper Benjamin D. Kirk, a nine year veteran of the State Police who is a native of Fort Wayne. Kirk is a 1998 graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School and in 2006, earned a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). On July 8, 2007 Kirk was appointed to the Department as a graduate of the 67th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Toll Road Post, where he worked St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange Counties before his transfer. Kirk, who is a resident of Allen County, has been assigned to patrol duties in both DeKalb and Steuben Counties and will also serve as a Field Training Officer and Background Investigator.
- Trooper Richard K. Williams, a three year veteran of the State Police who is a native of Hudsonville, Michigan. Williams is a 2006 graduate of Hudsonville High School and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served tours of duty in Iraq in 2007 and 2008, and served with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2009 and 2010. On May 1, 2014 Williams was appointed to the Department as a graduate of the 73rd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Toll Road Post, where he worked LaGrange and Steuben Counties before his transfer. Williams, who is a resident of Noble County, has been assigned to patrol duties in Noble and LaGrange Counties.
