Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/21/17.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Disabled Vehicle. A deputy stopped to check on a disabled vehicle on the side of the highway. The driver had run out of gas and was waiting on someone to bring some. The deputy waited until the vehicle was fueled up and back on the road.

-1310 Avenue H, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy met with a complainant about suspicious activity occurring on her property involving livestock. The information was collected and the area was put on for a close patrol.

-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a complainant about a possible stolen vehicle. Based on the information collected the matter was not criminal in nature, and the complainant did not wish to file a report. Information was collected but no report was filed.

-800 blk Veretto Rd, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy met with parties about a vehicle issue. The matter was determined to be civil and remedies were explained to both parties.

-100 blk Veretto Rd, Levelland: Assist EMS. Deputies responded to a residence to assist EMS with a patient to be transported. One individual was taken to a hospital.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, patrols in areas of the county, and traffic enforcement activities.

Jail Population as of 2/22/17 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, and 27 out-of-county.
