Clay County—This morning at 11:00, Indiana State Police and Clay County emergency agencies responded to a near head-on two-vehicle crash on State Road 246 approximately one-half mile west of SR 59.

Preliminary investigation revealed a red 2012 Jeep Patriot, driven by 45-year-old Janeece Stringer of Centerpoint, IN., was westbound on SR 246 attempting a left turn into a small business. In doing so, Stringer turned into the path of an eastbound yellow 2006 Ford Mustang, driven by 29-year-old Krysten McDaniel of Clay City, IN.

Janeece Stringer was transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital for treatment of extremity pain and facial injuries. Krysten McDaniel refused treatment at the scene, but will seek her own medical treatment.

No citations were issued. Airbags/restraints reduced severity of injuries.

The crash was investigated by ISP Senior Trooper Bill Bradbury. Assisting were ISP Trooper Brian Thomas, Clay City Police Department, CARE EMS, and Harrison Township Fire/Rescue.
