Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls and activities for 2/24/17 through 2/26/17.
Good Monday afternoon! The following are calls for cursive and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 2/24/17 through Sunday, 2/26/17.
2/24/17
-4000 blk FM 3261, Levelland: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to assist with an unresponsive subject at a residence in the area. One individual was transported to an area hospital by EMS.
-Hwy 114 at Hummingbird Rd, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a reckless driver on the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-6800 blk Colorado Rd, Smyer: Illegal Dumping. A resident in the area reported someone dumped several bags of trash in the area. Deputies searched and did not locate any dumped trash in the area as reported.
-3600 blk Mallard Rd, Ropesville: Controlled Burn. A deputy was on patrol in the area and observed a fire. After speaking with individuals it was a controlled burn and being monitored.
-100 blk Grant St, Smyer: Civil Standby. A deputy responded to assist with a civil issue. No offenses were reported.
-1000 blk 11th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted the Levelland PD in locating a subject. The individual was not located at that time.
-Paxton at Eastland, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to a reported suspicious vehicle near a well location in the area. Two individuals were contacted and were later released. No offenses were reported and the information was documented.
2/25/17
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a reckless driver on the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-2300 blk E Hwy 114, Levelland: Alarm. A deputy responded to a reported alarm at a residence. While en route, the deputy was cancelled as it was determined to be a false alarm.
-400 blk E Hwy 114, Levelland. Burglary Vehicle. A deputy responded to several reported vehicle burglaries in the area of the 800 blk and the 1800 blk FM 2646. Multiple reports were taken related to the incidents. The investigation is ongoing.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: A deputy was sent to check the area in reference to a disabled vehicle. The owner stated the vehicle would be moved over the weekend.
-2300 blk E Ellis, Levelland: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant that initially reported a theft, but advised the item was located.
-FM 3261 at Bison Rd: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to attempt to locate loose livestock in the area. The area was searched but none were located.
-400 blk Cragini, Sundown: Suspicious Person. A deputy met with complainants about a suspicious person in the area. The area was checked and would be patrolled during the night. Information was also passed on to Sundown PD.
-400 blk Ranch, Ropesville: Alarm. Deputies responded to a residence related to an alarm call. It was determined to be accidental.
-400 blk Ranch, Ropesvills: Assault. A resident met a deputy at the Law Enforcement Center regarding an assault report. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
2/26/17
-1100 blk Alaska Rd, Levelland: Criminal Mischief. A deputy met with a complainant about a criminal mischief issue. No report was requested, but information was collected and documented.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Missing Person. A deputy contacted a complainant regarding a possible missing person. The individual advised he had not spoken with his son since the early morning hours. The person was later located at a residence in Ropesville and the complainant met the deputy there.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Assault. A deputy responded to assist with an assault that occurred in the jail. The inmates were separated and a report was taken. One of the inmates received minor injury.
--500 blk Cragin, Sundown: Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a residence in the area related to a criminal mischief report. After the investigation it was determined to be a civil issue.
-500 blk Collins, Sundown: Fire. A deputy responded to a small structure fire behind a residence. The fire was in a storage building behind the residence and was extinguished.
-200 blk N. Ave S, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy contacted the driver of a suspicious vehicle. The driver was checking on a property for sale in the area to determine what work needed to be done. No offenses were reported.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, directed patrols around the county, investigative follow-up activities, and traffic enforcement.
