Mother Transporting Son Arrested for DUI
Vanderburgh - Last night at approximately 9:00, Trooper Taylor Fox stopped a vehicle on US 41 near St. George Road for speeding. When Fox approached the vehicle he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle and observed an open bottle of alcohol in the center console. Fox also observed a young boy in the back seat. He was restrained in a child safety seat. The driver was identified as Tabitha Cain, 32, of Fort Branch. Further investigation revealed Cain was impaired and had a blood alcohol content of .21%. She was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where she is currently being held on bond. Child Protective Services took custody of her son.
