Hockley County Sheriff's Office activities and calls for service for 2/27/17 and 2/28/17. 
Good Wednesday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for Monday, 2/27/17, and Tuesday, 2/28/17 for the Sheriff’s Office.
2/27/17
-6300 blk Tennessee Rd: 911 Hang-Up. Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call from a residence in the area. It was determined to be children playing with the phone. No offenses or emergencies existed.
-200 blk E 1st St, Anton: Unwanted Subject. A resident called and reported a bus was on the property and the owner of the property did not want the individuals there. The individuals were informed and left the area.
-4000 blk Santa Fe Rd, Pep: Grass Fire. A deputy responded to a reported fire in the area. Fire departments also responded and extinguished the fire.
-1800 blk S. College Ave: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted with a reported welfare check of an individual who threatened suicide. The individual was at the hospital and was being evaluated. The deputy followed up with another possible threat in the 400 blk Ranch, Ropesville. The individual was not located and the information was unsubstantiated.
-College Ave at Clubview Dr, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted with locating individuals involved in a verbal altercation. The individuals were located and released to the PD.
-400 blk Holly, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to the area where a subject reportedly evaded arrest on foot. The deputy located the individual and was released to the PD for processing.
-1400 blk W. FM 2306: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm at a residence in the area. It was determined to be set off accidentally by the homeowner.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Warrant Service. A deputy responded to the jail to serve a warrant on a wanted individual. The individual was released to the jail without incident.
-2400 blk E. Hwy 114, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy patrolling the area contacted an individual on the property of a business in the area. The information was documented and the individual left the property without incident.
2/28/17
-Wildcat Rd at FM 41, Sundown: Grass Fire. Deputies assisted with a large grass fire that was reported to have originated in northern Yoakum County. Deputies provided traffic control assistance in multiple areas as the fire spread north toward Sundown.
-Spain Rd at Atlanta Rd: Grass Fire. Deputies assisted with traffic control at another grass fire in the area. They remained on scene provided assistance until fire crews were done.
-800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to a reported suspicious vehicle in the area. The area was searched but the vehicle was not located. Deputies provided close patrols for the night.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and traffic enforcement activities.
Jail population as of 3/1/17 at 0800 hours: 55 in Hockley County, 21 out-of-county.
