Facebook RX Drug Dealer Agrees to Meet APD
In late February of 2017 the Anderson Police Department was notified that Dawn Danelle FRANKHOUSER, was involved in the illegal sales of prescription medications, including Buprenorphine-Naloxon (Suboxone), a prescription medication used in the treatment opiate addiction. Misuse of Suboxone can result in overdose and/or death, and it must be legally prescribed by a doctor.
Officers were advised that FRANKHOUSER was using the Facebook Messenger app as a means to communicate with potential customers and arrange deals. Officers began communication in an “undercover capacity” with FRANKHOUSER. On March 1, 2017, FRANKHOUSER agreed to meet with them to conduct a sale of the prescription medications.
When FRANKHOUSER arrived at the pre-determined buy location she was surprised to find that she had actually set up the deal with a Police Officer. FRANKHOUSER was found to be in possession of several prescription medications including, Suboxone, and Clonazepam. Additionally FRANKHOUSER possessed drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.
A records check revealed FRANKHOUSER to be on court probation out of Shasta County and for her driver’s license to be suspended.
FRANKHOUSER was arrested for possession and transportation of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended driver’s license, and a violation of her court probation. FRANKHOUSER was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
When asked why she was selling the prescription medications FRANKHOUSER indicated she needed the money for gas.
