Man Charged With Multiple Car Break-Ins.

Between February 3, 2017 and February 8, 2017 Hope Mills Police Officers responded to reports of multiple vehicle break-ins in the Golf Acres Subdivision, South Main Subdivision, and the Creekbend Subdivision. During the course of the investigation into the vehicle break-ins, Hope Mills Police Department Investigators, with the assistance of Fayetteville Police Department Investigators, developed information that Donnie Wayne Cheek, 40, of the 5700 block of Ridgecrest Drive, Hope Mills was responsible for the break-ins. On Tuesday, March 31, 2017 Hope Mills Police Detectives recovered property connected with the break-ins from Cheekā€™s residence and, on Thursday, March 2, 2017, Hope Mills Police Investigators charged Cheek with the break-ins. Cheek is currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $55,000.00 bond for the following charges:

12 counts of Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle
3 counts of Misdemeanor Larceny
3 counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods
