Advisory

UPDATE ON POWER OUTAGE

The Blissfield Police Department is in contact with Consumer's Energy regarding the wind storm and power outages. A representative from Consumer's is advising that they expect full restoration of power by Saturday afternoon. At this time, 96% of the Village appears to be without power. The main line is down, which is affecting the entire southern end of the county. The connected substations are also down as a result. The main line is a priority for Consumers at this time. Once that power is restored, Consumers will begin rebooting the connected substations throughout the area. In the meantime, first responders and line crews are working to clear downed lines in many areas.

Until the power is restored in town, the Blissfield Police Department will be staffing extra officers to respond to calls for service as well as monitoring for dangerous situations. We ask for your assistance, patience, and cooperation during this time.

Please do not approach any downed line. Call 911 to report a downed line or any other potentially dangerous situation.

Please treat the intersections as four way stops where signals are out and slow down around any line crews or first responders working in the area.

Further updates will be sent as information is received.
