Good Friday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 3/9/17.

-3100 blk N FM 2130, Anton: Criminal Mischief. A deputy met with a complainant about damage and possible theft at a business in the area. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.

-6500 blk E. Ellis, Smyer: Juvenile Issue. A deputy responded to a reported runaway at a residence in the area. Information was collected and a report was taken. It is believed the juvenile left the residence without permission, and information was entered into the state database.

-100 blk Spade, Anton: Intoxicated Driver. Deputies were dispatched to a possible intoxicated driver near city hall. Deputies checked the area and the driver made it out of the county prior to arrival.

-200 blk County Rd, Levelland: Funeral Escort. Deputies assisted with a funeral escort from Levelland to Sundown.

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Assault. Deputies responded to a reported assault at a residence in the area. Based on the circumstances, a male subject was arrested for Assault Family Violence and transported to the jail without incident. A report was completed related to the matter.

-2900 blk FM 2646, Levelland: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm call at a residence. It was determined to be an accidental activation. No offenses were reported.

-1000 blk 11th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted Levelland officers on the scene of a reported altercation in the area.

-500 blk N. 385, Levelland: Drug Paraphernalia. A deputy conducted a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. A search was conducted and a number of items of paraphernalia were located. Citations were issued and the contraband was confiscated.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrosl in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 3/10/17 at 0800 hours: 53 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, and 16 out-of-county.
