Officers Detain Student for Criminal Threats
SOUTH PASADENA, CA – On March 10, 2017, officers responded to the South Pasadena High School at 1401 Fremont Avenue for a criminal threats investigation. A snapshot taken from a social media post revealed a possible generalized threat against the school. The suspect was identified as a seventeen year old male student. As a precaution, the school was placed on a modified lockdown and officers were posted at the school.
Officers responded to his residence to locate him, but were unsuccessful. Additional information was obtained as to the suspect’s whereabouts and he was eventually contacted by phone. Officers made contact with him and took him into custody at the police station. The modified lockdown at the school was subsequently lifted and school operations returned to normal.
