WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR CHEROKEE COUNTY FROM 10 AM SUNDAY TO 7 AM CDT MONDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SIOUX FALLS HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM SUNDAY TO 7 AM CDT MONDAY.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE SUNDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 6 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE. 6 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA SO IF THE STORM TRACKS JUST 20 TO 30 MILES FARTHER SOUTH AMOUNTS COULD QUICKLY INCREASE.

* WIND AND VISIBILITY...SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL TURN TO THE NORTH WITH GUSTS OF 30 TO 35 MPH POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...WIND CHILL VALUES WILL FALL TO AROUND 5 ABOVE ZERO LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS.
