Winter Storm Warning until 06:00PM Tuesday
...A MAJOR COASTAL STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY... .Low pressure will develop off the Carolina coast Monday, becoming an intense storm as it moves east of New Jersey on Tuesday. Heavy precipitation will develop along and west of the track of the storm. Temperatures will be cold enough for snow in much of the area Monday night and Tuesday with substantial accumulations expected. ...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM EDT TUESDAY... The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow, which is in effect from 8 PM this evening to 6 PM EDT Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
* LOCATIONS...Portions of eastern New Jersey.
* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and gusty winds.
* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches.
* TIMING...Snow begins Monday evening from southwest to northeast across the warning area and will continue through Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power outages.
* WINDS...Northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.
* TEMPERATURES...In the lower 30s.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ATLANTIC ... CUMBERLAND ... SOUTHEASTERN BURLINGTON
