Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III, announced the sentencing of Brian Klekovic, age 40, of Holland Township, NJ.

In July, 2014, Mr. Klekovic was arrested by Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and members of the Holland Township Police Department. Mr. Klekovic was charged with three counts each of, 1st degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, five counts of 2nd degree Sexual Assault, two counts of 2nd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Klekovic engaged in sexual acts with a victim less than 13 years old and a child at least 13 but less than 16 years old. The crimes occurred in Holland Township and Franklin Township, NJ between 2012 and 2014.

A Hunterdon County Grand Jury returned a ten count indictment against Mr. Klekovic in October of 2014. In December 2017, after a two week trial, Mr. Klekovic was found guilty on all counts, including Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On March 10, 2017, the Honorable Angela Borkowski, J.S.C., sentenced Mr. Klekovic to 45 years in state prison. He must serve at least 38 years before he is eligible for parole. Mr Klekovic will be required to register sex offender as per Megan’s Law and will be under parole supervision for life.

According to Prosecutor Kearns, “I would like to commend the law enforcement officers and detectives from the Holland Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office for their dedication and hard work in this case. I would also like to thank Assistant Prosecutor John Burke and Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Daniels for their outstanding efforts. We are pleased with the sentence handed down by Judge Borkowski but we recognize that no amount of time the defendant serves will diminish the physical and emotional pain suffered by the victims. I commend the victims for courageously coming forward to bring Mr. Klekovic to justice.”
