Snow Emergency - City of Gloversville
SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED
Effective March 14th, 2017 at 11:00 PM, Mayor Dayton King has declared a “Snow Emergency” for the City of Gloversville. The City is experiencing a severe winter storm that will include significant snowfall, low visibility and snow-covered roadways will make for dangerous travel. Gusty winds will allow for blowy and drifting of snowfall.
During this emergency, parking is prohibited on all city streets. Citizens are also asked to avoid any unnecessary travel on city streets during the emergency.
This precaution will aid emergency crews and city highway workers carry out their official duties.
The Gloversville Police Department is working with local, county and state officials to monitor the status of the snow emergency as well as the road conditions. Updates will be sent out as needed or as conditions change.
The “Snow Emergency” shall remain in effect until Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at 6:00 AM, but may be extended if needed.
The City of Gloversville would like to thank the public for their cooperation during a most difficult time.
