The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing temperatures on the Island for tonight Wednesday February 15, 2017. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing on Sullivan's Island early Morning Thursday.
Please take precautions NOW to protect any exposed water pipes from the freezing temperatures. When temps are forecasted to be below 32 degrees for more than four hours, SIWS recommends letting a couple cold water faucets run slightly. A stream about the size of a pencil tip. If your hot water heating source is located outside or in a non-heated area then let a hot water faucet run as well. Keeping water moving inside exposed pipes will help prevent the water lines from freezing. If you are away from your home then have a friend or neighbor shut off your water.
