Man Arrested for Stealing Motorcycle.
On Monday, March 13, 2017 at approximately 8:30am, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the 3500 block of Birchfield Court in reference to a victim reporting their motorcycle stolen. Later that morning, Hope Mills Police Investigators received information from the victim and, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office that the stolen motorcycle was possibly at a residence located in the 400 block of Northwoods Drive in Raeford. Hope Mills Police Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence and, met Hoke County Sheriff’s Office Investigators at the residence where they executed the search warrant together. During the course of the search, Investigators located the motorcycle stolen from Hope Mills as well as other motorcycles and property stolen from the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction.
On the afternoon of Monday March 13, 2017, Investigators located Phillip Sandy Thomas Jr., 26, of the 400 block of Northwoods Drive, Raeford and arrested him for the theft and possession of the stolen motorcycle. Thomas is currently being held in the Hoke County Detention Center under a $40,000.00 bond for the following charges:
1 count of Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
1 count of Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
