Good Wednesday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 3/14/2017.

-3100 blk FM 2130, Smyer: Theft. Deputies responded to a location in the area related to a theft of copper wiring and batteries. Information for a report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

-Alaska Rd at County Rd, Levelland: Illegal Dumping. A deputy responded to the area regarding someone dumping trash. Evidence was collected at the scene and a report was taken.

-FM 303 at Horseshoe Rd: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist with a two vehicle crash at the intersection. THP Troopers arrived on scene and worked the crash.

-700 blk West Richardson, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. Deputies assisted Sundown officers on a call in the area.

-8th St at York, Sundown: Violation of Protective Order. Deputies located an individual in violation of a protective order and took him into custody without incident. The individual was transported to the jail and released to detention staff.

-6400 blk Cactus: Assault. A deputy responded to a residence in the area regarding an assault. Information was collected for the report and the parties were separated.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Illegal Dumping. A deputy met with a complainant at the LEC regarding someone dumping trash on his property in the area of Cactus and Chickadee Rd. Evidence was collected and a suspect was identified. A report was taken regarding the matter.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Welfare Check. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare on several individuals at a residence in the area. Information was collected, and no offenses were reported.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and traffic enforcement.

Jail population as of 5/15/17 at 0800 hours: 53 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, and 19 out-of-county.
