Details:   Several community complaints and other information given to the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office ultimately ended with a Search Warrant being executed at the Kristen Shomo residence located at 430 W. Washington Street in Centenary.
Deputy Hall acquired a search warrant for said property at 3:28 PM signed by Vermillion Circuit Court Judge Bruce Stengel and at 5:12 PM that warrant was executed.  Officers quickly took 5 people into custody and the residence was searched.
A male that was located in a vehicle in the driveway with two juveniles was identified and taken into custody on an active Vigo County Warrant stemming from a case for Strangulation.  Dakota J. Stephens (21 of Terre Haute) was arrested without incident and transported to the Vigo County Line where he was turned over to Vigo County Authorities.
A female was released from the scene who was identified as the mother of the two juveniles.

Kristen J. Shomo (33) of Clinton:
Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)

Joshua S. Engelking (30) of Clinton:
Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of Syringe (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)

Joel A. Avila (29) of Clinton:
Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

Cecilia A. Daniels (27) of Rockville:
Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of Syringe (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor) 

Officers located and seized several items including syringes, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medication used in the ingestion of illegal narcotics.
 
There were 4 dogs and 1 cat in the residence that did not have running water.  The dogs were placed with friends/family, while the cat was placed in the custody of the PVHS.

The Vermillion County Health Department ordered all occupants to vacate the property located at 430 W. Washington and an order to Condemn was placed on the property. 
 
All persons arrested are currently being held at the Vermillion County Jail on $10,000.00 bond.
