Deputies arrest Alexander Monohan for stabbing a victim during an argument

SUSPECT(S): Alexander Monohan, 23 years old

SUMMARY: On March 16, 2017, at approximately 9:00 am, deputies from the Barstow Station responded to a residence in the 36000 block of Hayward Avenue for reports of a stabbing. Deputy Randy Duran arrived at the location and found two subjects with knife wounds. Duran determined an argument took place and Alexander Monahan became physical and attacked the victim. At one point, the victim armed themself with a knife and the two struggled over it. Both subjects received serious injuries and cuts while fighting over the knife. The victim drove to a nearby Urgent Care for sutures.
Duran arrested Alexander Monahan for assault with a deadly weapon. Monahan was treated for a leg wound at Barstow Community Hospital, then booked at the High Desert Detention Center. His bail was set at $50,000.00.
