Connersville Woman Arrested on Felony Charges
Wayne County – Saturday night around 9 p.m. Trooper Josh Bayly was north bound on SR 1 in the area of Fagan Rd. when he clocked a south bound Buick at 68 M.P.H. in the 55 M.P.H zone. Bayly got the car, (which had a Kentucky temporary tag,) stopped around Jerry Meyers Rd. and made contact with the female driver and two male occupants.
After speaking with the driver, Angela French, age 42 of Connersville and her two male occupants, Bayly became suspicious. Hagerstown Police Department Officer Ryan Clark was nearby with his K-9 partner and came to assist Bayly. Officer Clark walked his K-9 partner around the outside of the vehicle and the dog alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Further investigation revealed pills and Methamphetamine in the vehicle. The driver, Angela French, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Legend Drug, Level 5 Felony, and Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony. In addition French was found to be wanted on warrant for Domestic Violence out of Howard County. French was lodged in the Wayne County Jail.
From March 3 through March 26, 2017, officers across the state are conducting high-visibility patrols specifically designated to identify and intercept those driving recklessly, aggressively and under the influence. Operation Pull Over, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” allows increased enforcement this month and is a statewide effort.
It is supported by federal funding allocated to the state police from the Traffic Safety Division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI). Motorists can expect to see added patrols and sobriety checkpoints during this month’s enforcement period.
