The Rutgers University Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment later this month in hopes of obtaining re-accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA®). The assessment officially begins on Sunday, March 26 and runs through Wednesday, March 29, 2017. This process is designed and intended to be interactive. In order to enable community and agency interaction with the assessment team, a public information session and call-in session have been scheduled.
The nationally recognized CALEA accreditation program requires agencies to comply with nearly 500 standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services. You are invited to offer brief comments that address any of these four basic areas as it pertains to your interactions with the RUPD.
