Chula Vista - Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday March 17th, 2017 between the hours of 5 PM and 3 AM within the City of Chula Vista.

DUI Saturation Patrol operations concentrate on locating impaired drivers that are under the influence of alcohol/drugs while operating a motor vehicle.

During this operation, 103 traffic stops were conducted for failure to stop for a stop sign, red light violation, unsafe speed and several other vehicle code violations. Four drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. An additional 90 citations were issued to drivers with 13 vehicles being towed due to the drivers having a suspended or no license at all or the vehicles registration expired over 6 months.

The Chula Vista Police Department is continuing its efforts to keep our community safe by encouraging drivers to follow the rules of the road.
