Planning Board Meeting Monday March 20, 2017

Recreation

The Roseland Recreation Department is pleased to announce that it will once again be holding its 26th Annual Mother of the Year Essay Contest. This contest is for Roseland children in grades 1 through 6.



Children interested in participating are asked to write an essay of 200 words or less, explaining why their mother should be Mother of the Year. Included with each entry should be the following: entrant’s name, address, telephone number, grade, birth date, school, and of course, their mother’s name.



Judging will take place in two categories: the first category will be for children in grades 1 through 3; and the second category will be for those students in grades 4 through 6.



The deadline date for all entries is Friday, April 7th. All essays should be sent to the Roseland Recreation Department, 140 Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068.



The winners in both categories will receive lunch for two, which is donated from Johnson’s Steak House in Roseland.



Employment Opportunities

The Roseland Recreation Department is looking to hire two Assistant Directors for its upcoming six-week Summer Playground Program entitled SCRAM. One would act as a Sports Leader and the other would lead the Arts and Crafts Programming.

Interested parties should be skilled in these areas, preferably with an art or physical education teaching background.

The program runs from June 26th through August 4th and the hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the exception of some extended trip days.
