Statewide Tornado Drills:10:15AM and 7:35PM on March 21. Warning Devices Will Activate. Plan Ahead for Severe Weather

Reminder: two statewide tornado drills will take place today, Tuesday, March 21. The first drill is at 10:15AM and is designed primarily for school and work participation. The second drill is scheduled for 7:35PM and encourages families to have plans at home for severe weather.

During the drills, outdoor warning sirens should sound. Weather radios, cell phone apps, and other warning devices will also activate as Indiana is placed under a Tornado Warning for a brief period.

Indiana averages around 20 tornadoes each year with 35 tornadoes recorded in 2016. For additional information on preparing for severe weather, visit Hamilton County Emergency Management at http://www.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/229/Emergency-Management.
