TWO-VEHICLE CRASH INJURED ONE
Vigo County—yesterday morning at 9:40, Indiana State Police and Terre Haute city emergency units responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 41 at Davis Avenue. The crash resulted in injury to one driver.
Preliminary investigation revealed a red 1994 Buick, driven by 58-year-old Beverly Gorby of Terre Haute, IN., was westbound across US 41 from Davis Avenue, attempting to enter the main entrance of Honey Creek Mall. In doing so, Gorby drove into the path of a southbound on US 41 blue 2008 Dodge car, driven by 35-year-old Michelle Payton of Terre Haute, IN.
Beverly Gorby was taken by Terre Haute Fire Department paramedics to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Michelle Payton was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing, but early indications are that Gorby may have disregarded the automatic signal.
The crash is being investigated by ISP Trooper Courtland Woodruff. Assisting were THPD and THFD units and AAA Towing.
No pictures.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
