On 03/22/2017 just before 9:30 am, wanted registered sex offender 47 year old Tricia Lyn Benhower of Orland was taken into custody without incident by the US Marshals Service Northern District of Indiana’s Great Lakes Taskforce. Benhower was apprehended on an outstanding Steuben County arrest warrant charging Benhower with one count of level 6 felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender and one count of level 5 felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender with a previous conviction. The arrest warrant followed a Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations Benhower failed to report required information in person to the Sheriff’s Office within the lawful time period. US Marshals Service Senior Inspector William Boothe located Benhower in the 10,000 block of west CR 605 N in rural Milgrove Township. Following an interview with Sheriff’s detectives, Benhower was booked into the Steuben County jail and remains held in lieu of a $5,000.00 cash bond.
