Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, announced the indictment of Sonia Z. Padmore, age 31, of Flemington. On March 16, 2017, Ms. Padmore was indicted by a Hunterdon County Grand Jury for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, 3rd degree; Resisting Arrest, 3rd degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, 2nd degree and Throwing Bodily Fluids, 4th degree crimes.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “Ms. Padmore was arrested by the Clinton Township Police Department on October 30, 2016, after she was stopped for a motor vehicle offense and found to be under the influence of alcohol. Ms. Padmore had a juvenile in the vehicle. As officers attempted to place her under arrest, she resisted, bit an officer and spat upon an officer.”
Prosecutor Kearns added, “We will continue to support our law enforcement officers as they do their jobs and enforce the laws of this state.”
The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
