Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski and High Bridge Borough Police Chief Brett Bartman announced that a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the High Bridge Borough Police Department has led to the arrest of one individual on sexual assault charges.
On March 22, 2017, Mario Chacon, age 42, of High Bridge, NJ, was arrested and charged with one count of 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Contact, one count of 3rd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of 4th degree Child Abuse.
An investigation by detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the High Bridge Borough Police Department revealed the crimes took place in September of 2016 and involved a child under the age of 16. Mr. Chacon was a member of the High Bridge Rescue Squad and is currently suspended.
