Fatal Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Traffic Collision in Hollenbeck Area
Los Angeles- On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at approximately 5:57 a.m., 49 year old Fredy Guirao, a resident of Los Angeles, was driving his 2016 Toyota Corolla westbound on Olympic Boulevard. As Guirao approached the intersection at Orme Street, he struck 61 year old, Ramon Guerrero, also a resident of Los Angeles, as he was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.
Guerrero was transported by Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. Despite lifesaving efforts he was pronounced dead by the medical staff at the hospital shortly after his arrival.
Guirao remained at the scene and is cooperating with this investigation. Alcohol and/or Drugs are not a factor in the collision.
