Richmond Woman Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

Richmond – An ongoing investigation involving the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Section and Indiana State Parole Agents led to the arrest of a Richmond woman on multiple felony charges, and the removal of five children from her Flatley Rd. residence.
 
The events started around 9 p.m. Tuesday night, 3/21, when troopers and parole agents went to the home at 2200 Flatley Rd. Richmond, on a tip that a wanted subject, Thomas Vanmeter age 23, was living there. While officers didn’t locate Thomas Vanmeter, they did locate Methamphetamine, a controlled substance believed to be Suboxone, a marijuana grow operation and a stolen firearm.
 
As a result of their ongoing investigation, Heather Parks, age 30, was arrested at the house and charged with four counts of Neglect of a Dependent, Level 6 Felony; Maintaining A Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony; Theft (Possession of Stolen Firearm) Level 6 Felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana, both misdemeanor charges. Parks was incarcerated at the Wayne County Jail.
 

Department of Child Services personnel were called to the house to remove five children ranging in age from from 6 mos. to 14 years old. The investigation is ongoing, with further felony charges and arrests pending.  The troopers and parole agents were assisted in their investigation by the Division of Child Services and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
 
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Thomas J. Vanmeter, age 23 of Richmond, is asked to call the Pendleton State Police Post at 765-778-2121.  Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
 
All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law
