Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski and Holland Township Police Chief John Harris announced that a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Holland Township Police Department has led to the arrest of one individual on sexual assault charges.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “On March 22, 2017, Daniel Veselko, age 50, of Holland Township was arrested and charged with one count of 1st degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of 2nd degree Sexual Assault, one count of 2nd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of 4th degree lewdness.”
An investigation by detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Holland Township Police Department revealed the defendant sexually assaulted a victim under the age of 13. The defendant was lodged in the Somerset County Jail and is awaiting his first court appearance.
Prosecutor Kearns added, “I commend the detectives from the Special Victims Unit and the Holland Township Police Department for their diligence and professionalism in the arrest of Mr. Veselko. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office will continue to vigorously pursue and bring to justice the perpetrators of these heinous acts.”
The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
