Good Thursday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 3/22/2017.

-100 blk Elgin, Levelland: Domestic Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to assist Levelland PD with a disturbance. Deputies met with the complainants, who advised there were no offenses, and the disturbance was verbal only. Parties were separated.

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Fire. Deputies located a fire in the area and it was determined to be a controlled burn. The residents were advised of the current burn ban and the fire was extinguished.

-6500 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to meet with a complainant about a possible suspicious person in the area. Prior to arrival the deputy was cancelled due to the caller knowing the individual.

-3500 blk FM 303, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to the area about a driver being followed by an individual who was restricted from having contact with the caller due to a protective order. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located. The deputy was advised the other party left the area prior to arrival of deputies.

-3100 blk FM 597, Anton: Loose Livestock. While on patrol, a deputy located loose livestock along the roadway. The cattle were secured.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, civil process service, patrols in areas of the county, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 3/23/17 at 0800 hours: 47 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, and 12 out-of-county.
