Traffic Stop Leads ISP Troopers to Arrest Bloomington Man on Several Felony Drug Charges
Bloomington – Just after 5pm Saturday evening, Sgt. Greg Day conducted a traffic stop along West Third Street (SR 48) near Kimble Drive. The traffic stop occurred after Sgt. Day observed a vehicle exit off the roadway on Kimble Drive and into a grassy area.
The driver was identified as Rickey W. Moore, 40 of Bloomington. Moore was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended Indiana Driver’s License. A consented search of the vehicle revealed hypodermic syringes, cotton swabs and a digital scale that contained white residue consistent with methamphetamine.
Moore was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail. A thorough search of Moore by jail officers revealed approximately 57 grams of crystal methamphetamine and medication for which Moore had no prescription, all concealed on his person.

Rickey W. Moore was arrested on the following offenses:
- Dealing Methamphetamine – Level 2 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 4 Felony
- Possession of Hypodermic Needles – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of a Legend Drug – Level 6 Felony
- Dealing in a Legend Drug – Level 6 Felony
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
