Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for 3/24/17 through 3/27/17
Good Tuesday afternoon! The following are the calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 3/24/17 through Monday, 3/27/17.
-Leon Rd at Alaska Rd, Smyer: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate a vehicle parked along the roadway and check status of the driver. Deputies searched the area and the vehicle was gone prior to arrival.
-Avenue H at FM 300, Levelland: Warrant Arrest. A deputy contacted a subject at a business at the intersection who had an active arrest warrant. The individual was taken into custody for the felony warrant without incident and transported to the jail.
-Lincoln Rd at France Rd, Anton: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to the area regarding a complaint of loose cattle. The owner was contacted and the cattle were secured.
-Richardson at Slaughter, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. Deputies assisted Sundown officers with traffic control at the scene of a vehicle crash at the intersection.
-800 blk South FM 168, Smyer: Terroristic Threat. A deputy met with a complainant about being threatened by another subject. Information was taken for a report and the investigation is ongoing.
-4100 blk USA Rd, Pep: Suspicious Vehicle. Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle in the area. The area was searched and no vehicle matching the description given was located.
-FM 300 at Evening Tower Rd, Levelland: Assist Sundown PD. Deputies assisted Sundown offices with a vehicle pursuit that continued to the area west of Levelland. Deputies assisted in taking the driver into custody and transported him to the jail. The driver was arrested for several charges related to the incident by Sundown PD.
-Hwy 114 at Quail Rd, Smyer: Reckless Driver. Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate a reckless driver on Hwy 114 driving toward Levelland. The area was searched but the vehicle was not located.
-1900 blk S. College, Levelland: Animal Bite. Deputies completed a report related to a reported dog bite. One individual suffered minor injury.
-Hwy 114 at Owl Rd, Smyer: Reckless Driver. Deputies were dispatched to a reported reckless driver in the area. A vehicle description was provided and the area was checked. The vehicle was not located by deputies.
-800 blk South FM 168, Smyer: Runaway. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in reference to a runaway. Deputies located the juvenile and returned the individual to the residence and the parents took custody of the child.
-2300 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Attempted Theft. Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle related to an attempted theft of a golf cart. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.
3/25/17
-1300 blk Avenue S, Levelland: Criminal Mischief. A complainant reported an individual caused damage to his vehicle. A report was completed related to the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
-Cactus at Alamo, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to the area related to a driver who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle. The individual was contacted and released to Levelland PD officers.
-100 blk Crestview, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the area. Parties were separated and no offenses were reported.
-Hwy 114 at FM 3261, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a vehicle crash. The deputy met with parties and turned the information over to THP troopers.
3/26/17
-700 blk Park, Sundown. Suicidal Subject. Deputies assisted Sundown officers with a possible suicidal subject. The individual was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and later transported to Lubbock by Sundown PD for evaluation.
-Flowline Rd at Fm 1585, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to a reported reckless driver in the area. The individual was contacted and after an investigation was released from the scene. No offenses were reported.
-6600 blk Wolf Rd, Ropesville: Noise Complaint. A deputy responded to a residence in the area regarding a noise complaint. Individuals were contacted and it was determined no offenses occurred.
-1100 blk Alaska Rd, Levelland: 911 Hang-up. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to a 911 hang-up call. It was determined to be accidental and no offenses were reported.
3/27/17
-FM 1490 at FM 597, Pep: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate loose cattle in the area. The area was checked and all cattle were secured.
-3100 blk N. Hwy 385, Fire. Deputies were dispatched to a residence related to a controlled burn. The residents were advised that a burn ban was in effect and burning was not authorized at this time. The fire was extinguished.
-800 blk Timons, Ropesville: 911 Hang-up. Deputies responded to a residence related to a 911 hang-up call. The residence was checked and secured. No offenses were reported and no individuals were contacted at the house.
-Norway Rd at Hwy 385, Whitharral: Illegal Dumping. A deputy completed a report related to illegal dumping in the area. Evidence was collected and the investigation is ongoing.
-1800 blk Kelly Rd, Levelland: Shots Fired. Deputies were dispatched to the area to attempt to locate reported gunfire. The area was searched an no individuals were located and no evidence of gunfire was found.
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Low Flying Aircraft. A driver called to report a small plane flying at what appeared to be a low altitude. Deputies responded to the area and no aircraft were located while en route, or flying around the area.
Deputies also completed close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and patrols through areas of the county.
