Free Energy Workshop - What’s New in 2017 for Title 24 (4/13)

Please join us at Civic Center Library Auditorium (365 F Street Chula Vista, CA 91910) for two sessions that will help you learn about new state energy building requirements. In the morning (8:30 - 10:30) we will talk about non-residential projects and the afternoon (11:30 - 1:30) will be residential projects.

Morning:
Learn the changes for the 2016 standards that will cover the California Energy Code. During this seminar, we’ll discuss nonresidential building envelope, lighting and mechanical equirements affecting commercial new construction under alifornia’s 2016 Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standards that took effect January 1, 2017. Attend this workshop to learn how the latest version of the standards will affect building design in your commercial new construction projects. Changes for the 2016 standards cover all areas of the code making this class a valuable introduction for all disciplines. Course highlights Overview of changes in scope, and new, revised mandatory and prescriptive requirements for:

• Nonresidential building envelope design in the 2016 Title 24 Energy Standards.
• Nonresidential electric lighting and associated controls in the 2016 Title 24 Energy Standards.
• Nonresidential mechanical systems and associated controls in the 2016 Title 24 Energy Standards.
• Application of the 2016 Title 24 Energy Standards as they relate to commercial buildings.

Speaker
Martyn Dodd of EnergySoft in Novato, Calif., is an industry expert in performance-based building analysis. He will present What’s New in 2017 for Title 24 Nonesidential Standards and What’s New in 2017 for Title 24 Residential Standards. He has written software programs used in California for Title 24 energy code compliance since 1985, including EnergyPro, COMPLY 24, and the California Energy Commission’s Perform software. He is also one of the original authors of the 1992 Nonresidential Alternative Calculation Method Manual. The manual defines the rules for code compliance software and has become the model for national and international code compliance software procedures.
