Driver Fails to See Stopped Semi in Time
Parke County—This afternoon at 1:54, Indiana State Police and Parke County emergency agencies responded to a rear end crash involving an SUV and a semi on US 41 at Howard Avenue in the town of Rockville.
Preliminary investigation revealed a black 1999 Ford Expedition, driven by 52-year-old Eddie Lee Brissey of Crawfordsville, IN. was southbound on US 41 approaching Howard Avenue. Stopped southbound on US 41 at Howard Avenue was a 2016 Volvo tractor pulling a box trailer and driven by 37-year-old Issa Garba of Indianapolis, IN. Brissey failed to notice the stopped semi and struck the trailer in the rear.
Eddie Brissey was slightly injured, but refused medical treatment. Brissey was cited for no insurance.
Issa Garba was not injured or cited. He was driving for Premier Transportation of Forest Park, Georgia.
The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Mike Laney. Assisting were Parke County Sheriff’s Office, Rockville-Adams Township Fire Rescue, Parke County EMS, and Rockville Street Department employees.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
