Chula Vista Library Presents Performance of Peter and the Wolf

Arts for Learning San Diego brings its latest production, “Peter and the Wolf,” to the Chula Vista Library’s Civic Center Branch, 365 F St, on Sat, April 8, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. This free performance for all ages, with the music of Sergei Prokofiev, incorporates storytelling, dance, costumes and music. It features dancer Faith Jensen-Ismay, theater artist Jerry Hager, bassist Rob Thorsen and singer/songwriter Steph Johnson. Each family will receive a free “Peter and the Wolf” book to take home. The renowned symphonic folk tale, where each character is represented by a different instrument in the orchestra, tells of a brave young boy who catches a hungry wolf and takes him to the local zoo.

Arts for Learning San Diego is an affiliate of Young Audiences, and hosts assemblies and workshops that introduce students to the arts. The organization envisions a world where all students, families, and communities imagine, create and thrive through the arts. The library performance is made possible by a grant from the Chula Vista Performing and Visual Arts Fund.
