Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 3/30/17.

-FM 303 at FM 300, Levelland: Motorist Assist. A deputy responded to a call of a motorist who struck something in the roadway and disabled his vehicle. A wrecker was contacted and the incident was documented.

-300 blk Badger, Whitharral: Alarm. A deputy responded to a reported alarm at a residence in the area. The area and the residence were checked and nothing was found. No offenses were reported.

-FM 2378 at FM 1585, Ropesville, Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a report of loose cattle near the county line. The area was checked and all cattle were secured.

-FM 300 at FM 303, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a reckless driver complaint. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.

-Hwy 114 at Sherman, Levelland: Driving While Intoxicated. A deputy conducted a motor vehicle stop for observed violation. Following an investigation the driver was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the jail without incident.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 3/31/17 a 0800 hours: 43 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, and 6 out-of-county.
