One Deceased and One Injured in Early Morning Crash

One Deceased and One Injured in Early Morning Crash

Sullivan County—This morning at 6:18, Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash near 11555 South Old US 41.

Preliminary investigation revealed a northbound 2013 Buick was exiting a left curve in the roadway, traveled off the east edge of the pavement and down an embankment. The Buick continued northbound in the ditch area, traveled over a private driveway, which ultimately launched the vehicle airborne. While in the air, the Buick struck a tree and rolled onto its top.

Evidence suggests both male occupants were ejected with one pronounced deceased at the scene and one transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital with what is believed to be life threatening injuries. At this time, troopers are attempting to determine the identities of both occupants. Alcohol may be a factor in this crash. No families have been notified.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

Direct questions to ISP Sergeant Joe Watts.

The crash is being investigated by ISP Master Trooper Polly Blackburn. Assisting were ISP Crash Reconstructionist and Crime Scene Investigator Sergeant Jim Cody, ISP Sergeant Kris Fitzgerald and Master Trooper Tom Hanks, troopers from the Bloomington and Evansville Posts, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Sullivan County EMS, Sullivan County Coroner’s Office, and Haddon Township Fire/Rescue.
