Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for Friday, 3/31/17, through Monday, 4/3/17.
3/31/17
-100 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to a reported reckless driver in the area. The vehicle was located and no traffic violations were observed.
-300 blk 16th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted with a reported assault in the area. The deputy assisted as needed and cleared the scene.
4/1/17
-6100 blk FM 597, Anton: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a complaint about dogs getting onto a neighbor’s property. No report was requested, but the issue was communicated with the other party and would be resolved.
-FM 303 at FM 597, Pep: Motorist Assist. A deputy assisted a motorist with a flat tire. The tire was changed and the roadway was cleared.
-FM 303 at FM 597, Pep: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to loose cattle. The area was checked and none were located.
-300 blk 9th St, Anton: Loud Music. A deputy responded to a reported loud music complaint in the area. The area was searched multiple times and no loud music or noise disturbance was located.
-400 blk Ranch, Ropesville: Alarm. Deputies responded to an address related to an alarm call. Deputies met with the homeowner who advised he panicked and activated the alarm.
-400 blk Ranch, Ropesville: Assault. A deputy was dispatched to a reported assault at a residence in the area. The caller was in another county and wanted to file the report. A report was taken related to the incident.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the area. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located. The information was passed on to Lubbock County to be on look out for the vehicle.
-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Warrant Service. Deputies attempted to locate an individual with an active arrest warrant. The individual was not located at the residence.
-800 blk Timmons, Ropesville: 911 Hang-Up. Deputies responded to a residence in the area related to a 911 hang-up call. The area was searched and no one was contacted at the residence. The residence appeared to be uninhabited, and the residence was secure.
4/2/17
-6900 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Unattended Death. Deputies and investigators responded to a reported death at a residence. The Justice of the Peace was notified and an investigation is underway. At this time there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. An investigation is underway.
-Avenue T at 18th St, Levelland: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy responded to a reported abandoned vehicle on private property. The vehicle was towed by the property owner.
-Alaska Rd at Leon Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Vehicle. Deputies contacted a driver in the area after a report of suspicious activity. It was determined the driver had active warrants and was placed under arrest. The driver was transported to the jail without incident and the vehicle was released to a family member.
-900 blk Robin Rd, Levelland: Assault. Deputies responded to a reported assault at a residence in the area. A juvenile was detained for an assaultive offense and taken into custody. A report was completed and the investigation in ongoing.
-100 blk Lincoln, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a verbal disturbance at a residence in the area. No offenses were reported, and civil remedies were advised to all parties.
-Hwy 84 at FM 168, Anton: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to check the area for loose cattle. The area was checked and no loose cattle were located. Information was forwarded to Lamb County so they could also check along Hwy 84.
-FM 303 at FM 41, Sundown: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to loose cattle. The cattle were located and were secured back on the property.
-6900 blk E Hwy 114, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a verbal altercation between family members. The argument was a dispute over property. Civil remedies were advised to all parties and they were separated. No offenses were reported by any party.
-100 blk 12th St, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy assisted with a call for service at a residence. One individual was transported and the deputy assisted as needed.
4/3/17
-6900 blk Elk Rd, Smyer: Alarm. Deputies responded to an alarm call at a residence. It was determined to be a false alarm.
-6700 blk Colorado Rd, Smyer: Criminal Trespass. A deputy responded to a complaint of an individual trespassing on property in the area. The suspected individual left the property prior to the arrival of deputies and a close patrol was added for the remainder of the night.
-3500 blk Justin Rd, Levelland: Assist EMS. Deputies were dispatched to assist EMS with a call of an unresponsive person. Deputies aided and one individual was transported.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities and civil process service.
Jail population as of 4/4/17 at 0800 hours: 42 in Hockley County, 6 out-of-county.
