Pleasanton Police arrest theft/ stolen vehicle suspect in the early morning hours
At 2:32 AM on April 4th, Pleasanton Police Officers responded to the 500 block of St. John Street for a suspect stealing property from a vehicle. A witness reported seeing an unknown male subject inside his neighbor’s car. Officers responded to the area and saw a subject walk out of a backyard of a nearby residence on Peters Avenue. Officers contacted the subject, who was later identified as Steven Fox DOB 12-01-89. Fox matched the description provided by the witness and was positively identified in an in-field line up. During the initial investigation it was determined numerous vehicles in the area were broken into during the early morning hours. Fox was also determined to be in possession of stolen property from vehicles in the area. Additionally, a key fob to a vehicle was located in the area where Fox was initially seen by Officers. The vehicle associated with the key fob was located in the downtown area and was determined to be stolen out of Fremont.
Fox was placed under arrest on numerous theft related charges including theft from a vehicle, possession of stolen property and a stolen vehicle (see booking photo below).
