Chula Vista Library Foundation Hosts Bon Appétit Food and Wine Gala
Bon Appétit Food & Wine Celebration, the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation’s annual gala event, returns to the Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Road, on Saturday, April 29, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The evening fundraiser under the stars takes place in the Town Center’s Food Pavilion. Tickets are available now, at $45 per person and can be purchased at any of the three Chula Vista Libraries (Civic Center, Otay Ranch and South Chula Vista) or at the door. Guests must be age 21 or over.
Highlights of this year’s festivity include a wide selection of wines offered by “The Wineries on Highway 94,” a group of local vineyards. Bay Bridge Brewing, Chula Vista’s first microbrewery, will provide its craft beer. Local restaurants and food purveyors will offer sumptuous taste treats. Guests can bid on outstanding gift items and packages in silent and live auctions. Among them are VIP concert tickets to see major recording artists, such as Boston, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode, Foreigner, Green Day, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, One Republic, and more, at the Mattress Firm Amphitheatre. KSDS radio deejay John Phillips will provide the entertainment, broadcasting new and classic dance music. An annual favorite aspect of the party will be the grand prize drawing for a $1000 gift card to the Otay Ranch Town Center; tickets for this drawing are $5 each and can be purchased in advance from each library branch as well as at the event. The winner need not be present.
Proceeds from this year’s Bon Appétit event will benefit the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation’s support of much-needed library services and programs. The Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the Chula Vista Public Library by providing charitable funds to further the education and community service goals of the library. Information about the Foundation can be found at www.cvplfoundation.net. Library branches are: Civic Center, 365 F St; South Chula Vista, 389 Orange Av; and Otay Ranch, in the Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Rd, Ste 409.
