WINTER STORM WARNING FROM 2 AM TO 11 PM THURSDAY. Expect snow, blowing snow, and deteriorating driving conditions.

The National Weather Service in Gaylord has issued A Winter Storm
Warning for snow and blowing snow...which is in effect from 2 AM
to 11 PM EDT Thursday. The WINTER STORM WATCH is no longer in effect.

* TIMING...Expect snow, heavy at times, to develop around midnight
and then continue through the day Thursday. Snowfall and strong
winds should taper off early Friday. The heaviest snowfall
rates will occur between 4 AM and noon Thursday.

* AMOUNTS...Heaviest snow accumulations are expected southeast of a line from Houghton Lake to Alpena where 6 to 9 inches are
expected.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds of 40 mph or more and heavy snow will reduce visibilities while driving. The strong winds and wet snow could
damage trees and cause power outages as well.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...sleet
and ice are expected. Strong winds are also possible. This will
make travel very hazardous or impossible.
