Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews are working to repair a broken 6-inch water main at 64 Lihiwai Road in the Lanikai area. This work has forced the closure of the Kailua-bound lane of Lihiwai Road near the Makalii Place intersection. The opposite lane is being contraflowed to allow traffic flow in and out of Lanikai. Traffic cones and sign boards are in place to guide drivers through the area. 17 BWS customers, including portions of Kailua Beach Park, are without water service.
BWS staff will be working overnight to restore water service and reopen the roadway. An update will be provided when the situation changes.
