Full Notification

Members of the Absecon Police Department were dispatch to S. New Rd. (Route 9) in front of the Holy Spirit High School, for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. When units arrived, it was discovered a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist, a 35 year old male from Absecon, was traveling south in the southbound shoulder lane on S. New Rd. when he was side swiped by a vehicle traveling the same direction. After the collision, the suspect vehicle continued traveling south towards Pleasantville at a high rate of speed. The bicyclist was transported to the Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center City Division with non-life threatening injuries. Evidence collect at the scene suggests the suspect vehicle was either gold or beige in color. The investigation is on going.
